Who
can forget Raageshwari’s
debut album that entered
the charts at number 1.
Innocent, fresh and showing
the sunny side of life
‘Duniya’ was
a dream launch for any
Pop artiste.
Maldivian beaches in ‘Duniya’
showed young Ragz as a
young tourist, enjoying
the simple pleasures in
life.
‘Oye Shaava’
won rave reviews for not
just Ragz’s dancing
but also the ‘All
Girl Power’ video
which was unheard of then.
Other tracks like ‘Chaahat’,
‘Rafta’Rafta’
showcased Ragz’s
romantic side, while ‘Kal
ki na Fiqar Karo’
and ‘Oye Saathi’
is Ragz’s tribute
to the youth, urging them
to not let go of their
dreams and live life to
the fullest. |

Easily
the most played video
‘Pyaar Ka Rang’
introduced Egyptian dancing
to India.
The album showed a slightly
grown up Ragz ready for
romance! The red and blue
Bandhni kurta Ragz wore,
became an instant rage
with college goers. Completely
in contrast was her second
single ‘Mere Mehboob’.
The song still tugs at
your heart strings, and
is a favourite with romantics
till date. Ragz wanted
to beat the blues with
tracks like ‘Baby
go for it’ wherein
she encourages good health
and fitness. She pops
the champagne with groovy
tracks like ‘Party’
and ‘Jawaanion Ke
Din’. ‘Pyaar
ka Khel’ is a must
listen for the love cynics.

A
huge fan of Gandhi and
a follower of his philosophies
‘Sach Ka Saath’
was an album to celebrate
india’s 50 year
of Independence. Thus
the idea to shoot the
video in Gujurat was born.
Complete with dunes, salt
mountains, villagers and
the Charkha. Trilok and
guest singer Raageshwari,
were shown as urban singers,
touring with their entourage
to perform in small villages.
‘Sach Ka Saath’
gave Trilok and Ragz a
huge following in Gujurat.
All the number are treats
for the every patriot
and for every true Indian.
‘ Bharat Banaayen
Milkar’ is not just
motivating but inspiring
too. ‘Maya Jaal’
is a clear message to
not get dwindled by luxurious
pleasures and believe
in merit more than position.
Wear some khadi and go
listening! |

Ushering
the new millennium in
style was ‘Y2K’
the gigantic stadium video.
Packed with special effects,
screaming crowds and high
powered dancing. Taking
you into another world
of tradition, melody and
longing was ‘Haakan’
, ‘Zakham’
and ‘Mahiya’.
A must listen is ‘Dil
Sheesha’ which happens
to be Raageshwari and
Trilok’s all time
favourite ballad. If your
beliefs are strong, if
your soul is alive and
if you want to make a
change listen up on ‘Pehchaan’
, easily one of the most
well written numbers from
Ragz’s collection. |
