What’s in
your purse today? |
| |
“At this
point my purse
is more like a
briefcase because
I’m busy
marketing Sagari
Rayn! I have
files, documents,
an organizer,
production charts…
But don’t
be disappointed
because I’m
very girlie and
I never leave
home without some
powder puff, gloss,
compact, and of
course cologne
and mouth freshener!” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
Most prized possession?
|
| |
“It
has to be our
family picture
at home. It was
taken in Dubai,
and believe me,
it was the only
holiday that my
family of workaholics
has ever taken
together. The
picture captures
us relaxing and
having fun, so
it’s a keeper!” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
You are known to
be a great cook,
but what is your
favourite meal?
|
| |
“Rajma
chawal! Don’t
forget the aam
ka achar!” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
Favourite midnight
snack? |
| |
“Matthi
with achar.
I’m such
a Punjabi kudi,
and a cheap date,
too!” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
Favourite actors
/ actresses in
Bollywood ? |
| |
Salman
Khan in ‘Tere
Naam’ ,
Hrithik in ‘Koi
Mil Gaya’.
Sunil Dutt sahab,
Dev sahab, Rishi
Kapoor. Neetu
Singh. Dimple
Kapadia , Waheedaji,
Sridevi. So many
and many more
I truly love. |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
How would you spend
a lazy Sunday morning? |
| |
“Hmm…
I would be locked
up in my music
room at home watching
films like ‘You’ve
got Mail’,
‘What Women
Want’
and ‘French
Kiss’.
I’m a complete
movie buff and
I hate watching
movies with talkative
friends giving
their commentary.” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
Chips, popcorn
or cookies, which
one of these do
you like munching
while watching
a movie? |
| |
“Popcorn!
What kind of a
movie buff would
I be without my
bucket of popcorn?” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
Your favourite holiday
memory? |
| |
“It
would have to
be from the family
holiday that we
took in Dubai.
We went on the
desert safari
and it was the
first time that
I saw my brother
frozen with fear.
He was so terrified
that he wanted
to turn back and
get to the flat
road. Though his
version was that
he was fearing
only our safety
Ha Ha Ha .” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
‘Duniya’
or ‘Sagari
Rayn’? |
| |
“It’s
difficult to choose
between these
two albums that
mark two diverse
phases in my career,
but I have to
say, as of now
it is Sagari
Rayn because
it’s been
a tough journey
against all odds.”
|
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
Most embarrassing
moment on stage? |
| |
“I’ve
had so many, but
the first one
that comes to
mind is the one
while I was promoting
Duniya. I had
back-to-back 4
shows in Bangalore,
so Bangalore was
stamped on my
mind. The very
next day I was
performing at
the Film fare’s
in Hyderabad.
So me ‘Miss
smarty Pants’
took the mike
and like a wannabe
rock star said
‘What’s
up Bangalore’!!
The audience were
confused, I almost
fainted (laughs)
somehow survived
and finished my
performance”
|
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
A song that you
often find yourself
humming? |
| |
“Sagari
Rayn, Sagari Rayn,
Sagari Rayn!” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
If you were marooned
on an island with
Mallika Sherawat
and Rakhi Sawant… |
| |
“I
would love that
because these
gorgeous women
could probably
teach me how to
be sexy! And if
it’s just
the three of us
on the island,
I might even try
on a beach bikini.”
|
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
What is your style
statement? |
| |
“To
each her own…
I dress for comfort
and I like to
be called classy
rather than sexy.
I love happy colours
and of course
my trademark white.
I love jackets
and blazers because
I like a clean
look. Basically
the boring look”(laughs) |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
A book that you’ve
read over and
over again and
still can’t
get enough of? |
| |
“Without
a doubt, Bridges
of Madison County.
I’m a voracious
reader so my list
of favourite books
is rather long
and it includes
Fountainhead,
Atlas shrugged
and Kite Runner.”
|
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
What is your stress
buster? |
| |
This
I would recommend
to everyone….’A
Good Night’s
Sleep’.
I go to bed by
10:30 or 11:00
in the night and
automatically
wake up early.
But the best stress
buster is a hug
from my niece!
It’s only
when she’s
around that I
realize that life
is simple and
the only thing
that complicates
it are our expectations.” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
A terrible habit
that you would like
to give up? |
| |
“Well,
I have a terrible
habit of biting
my finger nails,
to the extent
that I barely
have any left!
What you see in
my videos are
all acrylic ones
that keep me from
biting them.” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
Favourite show on
T.V.? |
| |
“I’m
a huge fan of
the The Oprah
Winfrey Show
and try to catch
it whenever I
can. Sex and
the City
is another favourite,
but sadly enough
it’s over
now. Everybody
Loves Raymond
is one of the
true genuine comedies
on TV and the
Romano family
is so similar
to an Indian family.” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
Favourite holiday
destination ? |
| |
Lets
name places that
I want to visit
? Would love to
go to New Zealand,
Hawaii and Morocco.
But actually a
real holiday for
me is at home,
listening to music
in my bedroom
or in front of
my computer. |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
A common perception
about you that you
would like to change? |
| |
“The
word ‘bubbly’.
Somehow, people
think that I go
to bed with a
smile, wake up
with a smile,
eat with a smile
and even shout
with a smile!
I’m cheerful
by nature, but
I go through mood
swings and feel
low sometimes,
much like anyone
else.” |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
 |
If you could invite
four people for
dinner, living
or dead, who would
they be? |
| |
“Beethoven
would be my first
guest because
I would love to
quiz him about
his music. Van
Gough, because
I love his work.
The eternal romantic
that I am, I would
also like to invite
Sunil Dutt ji
and Nargis ji.
Of course my entire
family would be
around as well.
That would make
quite an eclectic
guest list, wouldn’t
it?” |
